About the Event

If you have attended an LCMNA field trip in the last two months, please wait one week before registering to give other LCMNA members a chance to register. We thank you in advance for your kind cooperation.

Did you know that fall is the best time of year for wildflowers in the Lowcountry? Join Juliana Smith, Naturalist for the Spring Island Trust and co-teacher for the Lowcountry Master Naturalist program, on a walk amidst the fall flowers at Webb Wildlife Center in Hampton County.  We will practice our identification skills, learn about plant pollination techniques, and get up-close and personal with some of our area’s most beautiful native wildflowers.

For utmost enjoyment, participants should dress in close-toed shoes (hiking boots or shoes are best) and clothes that are not prone to attracting sticking seeds and insects (jeans, windbreakers, canvas, etc). We will be walking through waist-high vegetation to visit with the flowers. In addition, attendees should bring with them water, sun-protection (sunscreen, hats, sunglasses), bug protection, snacks, field notebooks, and hand lenses.

We will meet at the at the Webb Center's Office Building (aka lodge). More information on how to get to Webb can be found here by clicking here.
