About the Event
Please join us for our quarterly LCMNA meeting which will be held virtually on Zoom on May 19.
We are delighted to have a research scientist talk about her real time work. Dr. Laura Treible, a postdoctoral scientist at Skidaway Institute of Oceanography, will talk about her research on gelatinous zooplankton/jellyfish (GZ). As a postdoctoral researcher, Laura is working with data collected via in-situ high-resolution imaging which she will share with us. She will show us examples of imagery data used to quantify patterns of GZ abundance and distribution. This approach to field sampling can help better understand the role of GZ in food webs and coastal systems by revealing information that is lost in traditional field sampling.
So, have some refreshments on hand and join us starting at 3:45 pm to share your favorite nature spots and tips with fellow MNs, followed by a few brief announcements from our new LCMNA President, Bob Guinn. Laura’s talk will begin at 4pm. We will leave video and audio on at the beginning of the program for our social time. Looking forward to seeing everyone!
You will receive the Zoom link upon registering for the program, so check your junk mail if you don't see it in your inbox!
