About the Event
Join us for a guided beach walk before the LCMNA oyster roast and annual meeting! Located well inside the mouth of Port Royal Sound, this beach is home to a variety of intertidal invertebrates and shorebirds. We'll beach comb and hopefully make some good finds!
Bring binoculars and dress for the weather.
Your guide is Carlos Chacon, Natural History Manager for the Coastal Discovery Museum. A native of Costa Rica, Carlos studied tropical biology at the University of Costa Rica and received his Masters in Earth and Environmental Resources Management from the University of South Carolina in 2007. He has been leading natural history tours both locally and abroad for many years.
If you wish to attend the LCMNA oyster roast and annual meeting immediately following, you must RSVP separately so that we have an accurate head count! Please only sign up for ONE of the advanced training programs prior to the oyster roast, as they are happening concurrently. At this time due to limited space, only LCMNA members may sign up for the advanced training programs.
