A Day at the Beach (self-guided)

In this virtual/independent field trip, you will study barrier islands and how the coastal plain was formed. A day at the beach is always a good day! You'll begin with a lecture on coastal geology and watch an episode of Coastal Kingdom. Then you'll visit Hunting Island State Park to experience and explore a barrier island beach. This location charges a small admission if you don't have a state park pass. Master Naturalists may report your time spent completing this virtual field trip as Master Naturalist advanced training hours (not including travel time).

After registering, you will receive a link to join the google classroom and access the materials. You will need a google account to access the classroom (free to create if you don't already have one). The activities can be completed at any time.
