B&E, burglary Casas Adobes West
During the day in the first week of August, a home in the 7700 block of N Camino De Maximillian was entered via a window and robbed. The Sheriff was contacted and a report was filed. The loss was significant.
The window was closed and locked. LCMNA is advised that the thief/thieves removed the glass, apparently without breaking it.

7/28/2010 FOUND DOG (updated) male, white/tan pit bull
I was on a run earlier this afternoon (7/28/2010) and a pitbull started chasing me... he only had on a chain and a collar with no tags so I have no idea where to start searching. I figured maybe this email could be mass forwarded to those that live in the neighborhood in case somebody is searching for him. I've attached pictures. It's a boy and he isn't neutered... he's white and light brown.
hannahf0x@live.com or call 520-404-4574
dog was found north of Ina, between Ina and the Pegler Wash, around San Anna, in Casa Roma Estates.
sorry the photos won't upload

Hot Topic: Max Needs a Home Lab/Shep service dog
Hello everyone:
Max, pictured below, lives in or near Tucson and he needs a new forever home because his previous owner passed on. He was a service dog but there is a request that he be allowed to retire from this work and have some fun. He is a very sweet, gentle, 7 year old gold lab/shepard mix. And he does love to go walking which means he's strong and eager. He is definitely house trained and obedience trained.
See below for details and contact Della at: alled6806@yahoo.com It sounds like the dog needs to be placed by August 3rd or 4th. Della will know exactly when. Let’s hope for the best!
Please pass this on to responsible pet people who might be interested.
Thanks, Nancy
The conditions for his adoption: He is to no longer be a service dog. He must be allowed to freely and safely live indoors and outdoors (in large and safe yard.) They prefer he not be placed with a lot of other pets or a lot of chaos or a lot of children... smaller numbers of each will probably be easier for him to adapt.
From: Della E. <alled6806@yahoo.com> Subject: Fw: Max (doggy looking for his new home)
Regarding the black lab I emailed about a few days ago. Here are some pics of him...
(my mistake, he's not black). His name is Max
And latest update: his deceased owner's son and daughter will be at the woman's home for a week or two taking care of final business, and they want to keep the dog there til they leave, as he was such an important part of her life, and the dog is adorable.
*The conditions for his being adopted: he is to no longer be a service dog, he must be allowed to freely and safely live indoors and outdoors (in large and safe yard.)

He is definitely house trained as well as in other areas. As you can see in the pics, he's very good natured and knows he deserves alot of kindness and some fun activity too.
If you are definitely interested and know for sure that you'd like to adopt him, you can let me know, and I'll relay message. I believe Max would be transported here for you. |

Hot Topic: 06-14-2010 Paving begins on Camino de Manana
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 14, 2010
Contact: RODNEY CAMPBELL public information officer (520) 382-1936 www.marana.com Paving Begins on Camino de Mañana Project
The Town of Marana and Borderland Construction Company are more than halfway complete on the Camino de Mañana Roadway Project. Once finished, the 3.3-mile roadway will be a four-lane median divided roadway that connects the Dove Mountain area to the new Twin Peaks Interchange at Interstate 10.
During the week of June 14, crews will pave two new travel lanes along the new Twin Peaks Road alignment. Once complete, traffic will be switched to the new travel lanes while crews remove portions of existing Camino de Mañana and construct the new Oasis Road tie-in.
Starting June 23, Oasis Road will be closed from Camino de Mañana to Niobrara Way. Local traffic will be directed to use Linda Vista Boulevard as an alternate route. At this time, no freeway or frontage road access will be provided off Linda Vista Boulevard . Motorists will need to use Cortaro Road or Tangerine Road to access Interstate 10.
Work will take approximately two months. During this time, motorists and area residents can expect to see an increase in construction equipment, vehicles, and personnel. Please use caution while traveling through the construction area and obey all posted construction signage.
The project team will be working with area residents, school officials and emergency personnel to accommodate their travel needs.
For more information on this project or to be placed on the construction alert notification e-mail list, please contact Kimberly Gale at (877) 394-8245 or Kimberly@kaneenpr.com. ###

This is a project of the Regional Transportation Authority. The voter-approved, $2.1 billion RTA plan will be implemented through 2026. ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
Oracle Road: Tangerine Road to Calle Concordia Traffic Update
Nighttime Milling and Paving Operations June 13-24, 2010
Milling Operations
North- and southbound Oracle Road from Tangerine Road to Calle Concordia requires resurfacing before rubberized asphalt paving can occur. Milling of the existing surface of the roadway and intersections is necessary to ensure the roadway is in condition for final paving.
General Restrictions During Nighttime Milling and Paving June 13 – 24 include:
• A speed limit reduction to 35 mph through the construction zone.
• Left, right and U-turns may be restricted; law enforcement will be on-site to assist traffic through the paving operations.
• Intermittent closures during nighttime work at the intersections of Calle Concordia, Linda Vista, El Conquistador Way, Pusch View Lane, First Avenue, Steam Pump Way, La Reserve, Hanley Boulevard, Rams Pass, Innovation Marketplace and Tangerine Road.
• Please obey all signs.
Motorists may want to:
• Consider alternative routes during the milling and paving operations.
• Expect delays; adjust your drive time accordingly for possible restrictions in the construction zone.
Specific Restrictions as Scheduled Each Night:
June 13 – 14
Sunday, June 13, and Monday, June 14, from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. the following morning, north- and southbound Oracle Road is scheduled for milling of the right (outside) lanes from Tangerine Road to Calle Concordia.

June 22 – 24
Tuesday, June 22 through Thursday, June 24, from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. the following morning, north- and southbound Oracle Road is scheduled for paving of the left (inside) and middle lanes from Calle Concordia to Pusch View Lane.
Please note: Changes to construction plans can happen frequently due to weather, equipment availability and personnel issues. We try to anticipate construction activities a week in advance but changes may occur. Intermittent lane closures, with short delays, may not always be known in advance.
Please note that by State and County statutes, bicycles may use the travel lanes in a roadway, and bicyclists have the same rights and responsibilities as drivers of motor vehicles. At various times throughout the construction, for the safety of the public and construction personnel, the shoulder of the roadway will be closed. To avoid these road restrictions, bicyclists may wish to access alternative routes to Oracle Road.

3 cats need home by 6/11/2010
Hello friends:
Please pass this on to like minded, responsible cat lovers in the Southern Arizona area. See below for the tale of Mia, StormyAna, and Sir Robert here in Tucson. They are all three in urgent need of a new home or homes. Their owner passed away and the person who has them has to leave town and apparently can’t take them with her. While I’m sure it would be great if they could stay together, that is not part of the request. Note that these are indoor cats only. I don’t know if they are spayed or natured but I’m guessing they are. If you can help, please call: Roseanne Roda: cell: 869-1922. Alternative numbers: 747-3998 or 885-5482 From: creatingorder@juno.com Date: Mon, 7 Jun 2010 02:57:35 +0000 Dear Friends, I had a very dear friend pass away right in the middle of me moving out of my house. She left me her 3 cats and I am leaving for LA for month or so to work and I need to find homes for them by this coming Friday, 6/11/10.Please help me ASAP if you can personally or know people interested in a cat. There are complete supplies for each cat. Dishes, beds, litter boxes, plastic carriers, toys, scratchers and some paperwork. Cats will need their updated shots. All 3 cats have been indoor cats and still have their claws. 1. Mia is a female tabby cat, gold eyes about 4 years old. Very petite and people friendly. She is afraid of other cats and will hide in a closet or up on a high bookcase or TV unit. She lived with 3 other cats but kept to herself. 2. StormyAna is a female grayish calico colored, 6-10 years old. She is very very sweet and gets along with people and cats. 3. Sir Robert is a large gray male cat and don't know his age. He was found in the desert by my friend and she had him 5-6 years. He has big, soft eyes, but looks afraid and hides most of the day and will come out and be friendly with owner; he is even beginning to not run when I come in the room. Unfortunately, if I do not find homes for them I will have to give them to Hermitage Shelter or Animal Shelter. If you know of any shelter personal or private that could take them, please let me know. Thanks so much! Nancy Young Wright
